About
Locus Systems designs and makes shadow boards and visual management boards at our UK facility for manufacturers who need a workplace standard that lasts.
Our story
Locus was born out of Klipspringer Ltd. Klipspringer began as a specialist provider of food safety equipment, not as a shadow board manufacturer.
A food manufacturer asked for a clear way to store hygiene equipment separately, make every item instantly identifiable and show when something was missing. The shadow board we made for that challenge revealed a wider need: customers wanted a visual management system, not simply a printed board.
We brought production in-house and chose to specialise. We developed accurate tool-grid shadows, mounting systems, hook options and installation methods around real industrial use. Our philosophy became simple: a shadow board is only as good as the system behind it.
Demand soon grew beyond food production into automotive, transport, engineering, utilities, warehousing and manufacturing. Locus was established as a separate company so we could focus on those industries while retaining the people, manufacturing expertise and quality standards behind Klipspringer’s work.
Our mission
Inspired by the meaning of locus as a particular place where something is situated, we’re on a mission to help manufacturers create organised workplaces by defining where tools, equipment and visual controls belong, improving efficiency, compliance and operational performance.

If a board will not fix the problem, we say so. We would rather lose an order than install something that gets ignored.
